Everything you need to get started with Stitch.

Getting started

Supported file types

Stitch accepts SVG files. Export from Canva, Illustrator, Inkscape, or any design tool that supports SVG. Convert text to outlines before uploading. For best results, use simple shapes with solid colors. Gradients and photos are not supported.

How to upload

Click the upload area or drag and drop your SVG file. Your design is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

Choosing your machine

Select the machine format that matches your embroidery machine. Brother (PES), Tajima (DST), Janome (JEF), Melco (EXP), Viking (VP3), Wilcom (EMB).

Features

Stitch types

Stitch automatically classifies shapes as fill, satin, or running stitches. You can override any shape manually. Puff/3D is available for foam embroidery.

Thread colors

Choose from DMC, Madeira, Isacord, or a default palette. Click any color in the design info panel to remap it to a different thread.

Hoop sizes

Select from 9 standard hoop sizes to see if your design fits. The preview shows a red outline if the design exceeds the hoop bounds.

Job sheets

Generate a professional production printout as JPG or PDF. Includes stitch count, thread colors, dimensions, yarn length, and a visual preview with crosshairs.

Puff / 3D embroidery

Select any shape and change its stitch type to "puff" for 3D foam embroidery. Adjust foam thickness (2-6mm) in the settings panel. Best for bold text and simple shapes.

Transferring files

How to transfer to your machine

Save the downloaded file to a USB drive. Insert the USB into your embroidery machine. Navigate to the USB folder on your machine's screen and select the design. Consult your machine's manual for specific instructions.

Troubleshooting

My design looks wrong

Make sure text is converted to outlines. Remove any clipping masks or effects. Simplify complex paths. Check that shapes have solid fills, not gradients.

The file won't load on my machine

Verify you downloaded the correct format for your machine. Some older machines have size limits. Try reducing the design dimensions or stitch count.
